 Alana Rushton, MS PA-C

Alana graduated with academic honors from a graduate program in Community Health Education in 1998. She worked in prevention programs for high risk youth in middle schools. She subsequently attended A.T. Still University in Mesa, Arizona and graduated with a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies.  She was awarded the Provost's Award on graduation.

During her PA Studies, Alana was granted entry into a clerkship in infectious disease at the University of Kentucky at Lexington.  She has an article published in the Journal of the American Academy of Physician Assistants on emerging infectious disease issues and transfusion safety.

Alana has worked in Emergency Medicine since graduation and has experience with all age groups including an emphasis on geriatrics.

Special interests include volunteer service with 10 years experience in Wilderness Search and Rescue and disaster response. Alana was a member of the New Mexico FEMA Task Force I and specialized in search dog team management.

Alana has 3 children and one grandchild and resides with her husband and 2 dogs.
